Since coming on board as a sponsor in 2014, Connetics have become a consistent supporter of all levels of football within the region. This current deal will see them continuing as a principal partner of Mainland Football, retain the naming rights of the local First XI Schools competition, and continue as a cornerstone sponsor of Canterbury United.
Connetics CEO John Thompson states "I look forward to the continuation of a long-term relationship and trust that we can build on our sponsorship of community sport for the wider benefit for both organisations. I’m committed to increasing the awareness of the work Connetics does, in the community, and making young people aware of the career options they have in the electrical distribution sector".
Of particular interest to Connetics is the increased opportunities that both organisations are providing for girls & women, with John stating "I’m particularly keen to see us increase the participation of women in our workforce and see our connection with Mainland as a means to creating early awareness of the opportunities that abound".
Speaking on the partnership, Mainland Football CEO Martin Field-Dodgson said, “We are rapt to be continuing the long-term relationship with Connetics, which not only recognises the special relationship we've had over the years, but also looks forward to facilitating positive experiences to our community. Building strong partnerships is part of our DNA, and it's great to share this value with a fantastic company such as Connetics".
